Escape the valley this Easter Saturday. Amazing Bands, DJs, an Easter Egg hunt, $10 entry and BYO. One band still to be announced.
One of the buzz bands in the oz music scene right now is Melbourne’s Love Connection. They make shoegazer influenced pop songs with robust grooves and delightful synth melodies.
Launching their sublime debut self titled album, this will be a performance not to be missed. Released on Sensory Projects, this album has already been named RRR album of the week, Mess and Noise On Rotation and has featured on whothehell.net Having just supported bands like The XX, Micachu & The Shapes, Philadephia Grand Jury and I Heart Hiroshima, this is truly a band destined for greatness in 2010.
In the early days of hangar Toy Balloon were practically the house band. Back in those days Toy Balloon was an instrumental two piece playing guitar noodles over the top of cheap Roland electro grooves. Two years on and the band is a fully fledged four-piece band with vocals, choruses and an album. Having recently supported bands like YACHT and The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, the gang return to hangar for the first time in nearly a year for what is always a sweaty good time.
What started as a side project for Tragic/Athletic’s Paul Donoughue has evolved into something much bigger. Considered one of Brisbane’s great songwriters, Paul returns to hangar to swansong his six piece band.
DJ Peer Pressure
As one of Brisbane’s premier promoters of abstract, interesting and downright awesome shows Andrew Tuttle unleashes the power of his amazing record collection upon hangar. Spinning tunes via a laptop set before, after and in between bands expect to hear a bit of everything slightly quirky.
